Q.1. Can we make two or more rack in loading zone, rack one for initial shuttle cock and another rack for used shuttle cock? / Is splitting of rack into two parts allowed?
Ans: Team can make as many racks as they wish and there is no regulation in dimension. All the Shuttlecock Racks have to be fit inside the Loading Zone. Refer terms & definitions of rulebook.
Q.2. Can we use mechanical mechanism in rack? / Can we use wheel in rack? / Can we use wheels at base of rack for mobility of rack?

Q.3. In game, robot dimensions are including or excluding shuttlecock?
Ans: It is clearly mentioned at rule 7.5 of rulebook that throughout the game, the robot together with any rack that will be attached to the robot after shuttlecocks loading shall not exceed regulated 1500mm length x 1500mm width x 1800mm height.
Q.4. Can we use shuttlecocks of different colors?
Ans: As per the terms & definitions mentioned in rule book, normal shuttlecock of whatever colors, can be single or multi colors but Golden shuttlecock in gold color.
Q.5. Can you please enlist the total modes of communications which are prohibited

Q.6. Can automatic bot size exceed 1m*1m*1m constraint after game starts upto the size limit 1.5m*1.5m*1.8m?
Ans: Throughout the game, the robot together with any rack that will be attached to the robot after shuttlecocks loading shall not exceed regulated 1500mm length x 1500mm width x 1800mm height.
Q.7. RF Communication within the bot between two microprocessor (not between both bots) is allowed or not?
Ans: RF is wireless communication & wireless communication between manual & automatic robot is not allowed as per rule 7.4 of rule book.
Q.8. Clarify the word re-using statement in the rule no.3.4.4.
Ans: Re-throw of same golden shuttlecock is not allowed.
Q.9. In rule no. 3.4.4 it is mentioned that AR must start from ARSZ while in rule no.3.8 it is said that both robots has to start from their respective start zone, which one is correct.
Ans: Both are correct.
Q.10. How many points will be deducted if a team violates the rules?
Ans: In case of violations mentioned in rule book, there will be a mandatory Retry.
Q.11. Use of multiple rack in the given dimension is allowed or not.
Ans: It is allowed but it should satisfy the conditions under rulebook, item 7.5, 7.6, Appendix item 3.3 & FAQ B2 (International FAQ).
Q.12. Specify the length of the control cable.
Ans: No length constraints, it should satisfy the weight conditions mentioned in rule 7.6 of rule book.
Q.13. What is the actual way to attach fringes with shuttlecock?

Q.14. Is it necessary that Shuttlecock colour should remain same or not?
Ans: As per the terms & definitions mentioned in rule book, normal shuttlecock of whatever colors, can be single or multi colors but Golden shuttlecock in gold color.
Q.15. According to terms & condition S.C. shuttlecock can be of sphere shape (i.e. square or ellipse) please specify the dimension of shuttlecock.

Q.16. Please specify the dimension of automatic robot during the game.
Ans: Dimensions of both the robots throughout the game are mentioned in rule 7.5 of rule book.
Q.17. Can we use a special mechanical mechanism only for communication and it will be autonomously sensed by manual robot by using sensors as no electric type of communication is allowed.
Ans: It is prohibited to have ‘automatic robot control unction’ on manual robot. However the automatic robot can use ‘movement of manual robot’ or ‘color of shuttlecocks’ for judgment.Refer FAQ D5.7 of International ROBOCON 2018 at http://aburobocon2018.vtv.vn/upload/ABU_Robocon_2018_FAQ.pdf
Q.18. Can we pick up a rack loaded with both golden and normal shuttlecock before shooting from TZ1 and TZ2 zones and use golden shuttlecock later after successfully passing through TZ1 and TZ2?
Ans: Manual Robot can go and pick up the Golden Shuttlecock only after at least one shuttlecock thrown from each TZ1 and TZ2 went through the Normal Ring successfully. Refer rule 3.4 from rule book.
Q.19. In game robot dimensions are including or excluding shuttlecock?
Ans: Clearly mentioned in rule 7.5 of Rule book.

Ans: Both are correct.

Ans: Not necessary, but each shuttlecock should satisfy the dimensions as per rules.
Q.27. Please specify the length of the control cable.
Ans: There is no constraint about length of cable but its weight is included in the robot’s weight. Refer rule 7.6 of rule book.

Q.29. We can use opponent team’s shuttlecock?
Ans: Not allowed.
Q.30. Is it necessary that Shuttlecock color should remain same or not?
Ans: Not necessary, normal shuttlecock can be in whatever color, single or multi-color, but Golden shuttle cock should be in gold color. Fringes should be minimum 5 and with minimum 3 different 3 colours. More constraints about shuttlecock requirement is mentioned in Appendix at http://aburobocon2018.vtv.vn/upload/Appendix.pdf

Q.38. It is written that while passing the shuttlecock, it should not touch the game field. What if the fringes/tail touch the game field?
Ans: Refer rule 3.4.2 from Rulebook. Fringes and tail are part of shuttlecock.
Q.39. Is it allowed for the shuttlecock rack to have wheels? Considering that there is no power source or any actuator on the rack.
Ans: As mentioned in International FAQ B4.1, Caster wheels are not allowed as Rack are used to store, hang or place the shuttlecock.
Q.40. When throwing mechanism is actuated and momentum is given from keeping point, can shuttlecock be allowed to rest on a part of AR for few milliseconds until the shuttlecock is projected towards the ring by providing momentum only from keeping point.

Q.41. Is it allowed to use wind to prevent the shuttlecock from touching any part of AR if the wind does not cause any obstruction to the opponent?
Ans: In D5.14 of International FAQ, it is mentioned that teams are not allowed to use wind.
