Dear Sponsor,
We invite you to be a part of the ABU Robocon 2008 Event.
This event is a great opportunity to show that your organization supports technology and innovation amongst young technocrats.
You will be able to meet, network and form relationships with representatives of 50 countries from the Asia Pacific Region.
Let me take you through a brief journey of ABU Robocon. The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) is a non-profit, non-government, professional association of broadcasting organizations, formed in 1964 to facilitate the development of broadcasting in the Asia-Pacific region and to organize co-operative activities amongst its members. It currently has over 170 members in 53 countries, reaching a potential audience of about 3 billion people. This is a robotics competition open to college and university students in the Asia-Pacific region. Participants use their creative and technological abilities to create hand made robots, which compete, in uniquely themed annual competitions.
The objective of the competition is to encourage engineering students across the region develop originality, creativity and technical skills; to help promote the advancement of the Asia-Pacific broadcasting culture; and to foster the spirit of collaboration in joint production.
This event would be covered live extensively on National television in India. The program is popular both amongst the industry as well as the technical education fraternity. The viewer ship is high as it is a matter of national pride to win the competition.
The event started in the year 2002, with the first Robotics competition held in Tokyo, Japan. Followed by Bangkok in Thailand in 2003, Seoul in Korea in 2004, Beijing in China in 2005, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia in 2006 and Hanoi in Vietnam in 2007.
Robots are increasingly manufactured, managed and funded in collaborations and partnership with progressive and leading techno savvy organizations. Your support will play an important role in the overall success of this event. We invite you to join us and be a part of the event.
