University of Peradeniya (UoP) was selected to represent Sri Lanka at ROBOCON 2008 as a result of an internal competition with University of Moratuwa conducted by Independent Television Network (ITN) in May. It will be our 4th consecutive time to appear in the international arena.

A much anticipated annual event in Vietnam, Robocon Vietnam was held at Quan Khu 7 Sport Center in Ho Chi Minh City for 6 nights in a row on the first week of June with 32 teams participating. Over 18,000 spectators turned out to see the exciting competition and show. They are the top 32 out of 273 teams that go through the regional contests held in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City in April.
