Chief Convenor. Robocon India 2010
Science is changing at an unprecedented rate, technology has assumed amazing dimensions, engineering is emerging as the
latest supernova and innovation is revolutionizing the veneer of tomorrow. As the future unfolds its new face, we invite you to
be a part of this innovation at the National ROBOCON 2010.
ROBOCON INDIA is a breeding ground for young engineers to exhibit their creativity and innovative skills.
The history of this event can be traced back to 2002 with a meager 4 teams participating from reputed institutes.
And today, with the efforts put in by Doordarshan and MIT Pune , the contest has garnered a national interest with the participation
escalating to 55 teams in 2009 and IIT Madras having represented India in the international robotic contest in Tokyo on 22 August 2009.
Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union’s first International Robocon, was kicked off with great enthusiasm in Tokyo, Japan in 2002.
With one representative team from each country competing with teams from other countries, 5 years later, the contest continues
to enhance friendship among young people and also helps advance engineering and broadcasting edge across the Asia-Pacific region.
Now Egypt having joined the fray, the cooperation has spread over even to Africa.
MAEER's MIT is proud to record that the International Robocon 2008 was organized and hosted at MIT, Pune in collaboration with
Doordarshan (Prasar Bharati) besides conducting the National Level Robotic contest for the last 5 years. The forthcoming final event
Robocon India 2010 based on the theme ‘Robo-Pharaos Build Pyramids’, will be held at MIT, Pune.
On 6th March 2010 with elimination rounds conducted on earlier days.
I request and urge all responsible and budding future technology leaders from all colleges to participate in the National
Contest on 6th March 2010 and win for further participation in International Contest in Cairo Egypt on 19th September 2010.
